Nick Hastings

Coming to Sedona as a young kid meant time playing in Oak Creek and among the red rocks but Nick never would have guessed it would become the place he calls home. In fact growing up in Flagstaff he aspired live and work in a big city, which he eventually did after graduating from Northern Arizona University with degrees in business management and marketing. Nick took a sales position with a security company where he spent time in Raleigh, NC; El Paso, TX; Palm Springs, CA and Scottsdale, AZ. When the job offer from Ron Draxler came in 2010 the move to Sedona was a great change. Ironically Nick truly enjoys the small community feel in Sedona while also appreciating the buzz created by tourism and all the visitors. It’s Nick’s involvement in the community that really makes Sedona his home. Active in Rotary, he has served as club president and in several other roles. He really enjoys organizing fundraising events for the club including an annual golf tournament, glow golf events and an Oktoberfest event in the fall. He’s always quick to give back to the community he feels has given so much to him. When he’s not working or volunteering you’ll find him enjoying all that the Sedona outdoors have to offer. Whether it’s on his mountain bike, hiking one of the many beautiful mountains or in his Jeep crawling on the red rocks. He is also passionate about adventure, traveling, socializing and spending time with friends and family.

While a career in the insurance industry was never a planned path, Nick feels incredibly fortunate to have happened upon it. Learning the business directly under the apprenticeship of Ron Draxler has given Nick a unique perspective which has been invaluable. The alignment of his core values and business principals with that of the agency’s has created a synergistic effect which has not only been beneficial to his clients but also the future of the agency. Nick’s primary focus is in commercial lines but he’s found that the relationships created while insuring his client’s businesses often lead into protecting their personal assets and liability exposures as well. It’s those relationships that Nick finds most rewarding and valuable. In 2015 Nick was promoted to Vice President of Operations at Draxler Insurance, an achievement he’ll describe as one of the proudest moments of his career. He continues to advance his insurance knowledge base in pursuit of the coveted Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Nick his highly optimistic about the future of Draxler Insurance and always focused on doing the right thing for his clients, partner companies and the agency.
